Advanced Self-Care Technology
There is an art and a science to self-care. Over the past decade there has been too much emphasis on the “art” of self care: how to relax, get a massage, and do less and less.
An Overview of the Art of Self-Care
The art of self-care hasn't yet brought us to balanced living. Scientifically based self-care can turn the tide and change the way we care for ourselves .

People are becoming more overweight, easily fatigued and increasingly pessimistic about the future. And, worse of all, this pessimism is covered by a false layer of calm. That's why it's time for a shift to programs that can work for more people, because no one wants to fail.
Scientific self-care refers to methods that address and influence all levels of being to help you achieve optimum health by not only focusing on the body and relief of symptoms, but also identifying the root cause of imbalances: your energy levels, lifestyle, diet, and your mental and emotional well-being – and, most importantly your brain chemistry.
Your body, your mental and emotional equilibrium are not separate from each other. If one is stressed or out of balance, all the others are affected. Feelings of irritation can create muscular tension that can create a headache.
An Overview of the Science of Self-Care
The tool we use to help promote a balanced self care program is the Robertson Personal Enhancement Program .
Challenge or Overload
The Science of Self-Care emphasizes how and when to take on a challenge, and how to properly recover from stress before you greet the next challenge.
Saying yes or no to a new opportunity requires accurate perceptions and expectations. That's why working to attain more balanced brain chemistry is so important.
We've all read that taking on new and exciting ventures is what keeps us young. When we have balanced brain chemistry we are more likely to take on the right ventures, and say no to those that are could harm us and increase stress levels.
Stress happens and it's not all “bad.” The book, The Breakout Principle , by Benson and Proctor, clearly explains the distinction: Basically, there are two types of stress: eustress or positive stress and distress or negative stress. These terms roughly mean challenge and overload. Performance and efficiency increases with stress up to a point. That point is when you have crossed into overload.
You Are Not Alone
Seeking balance in your life is an act of continual self-care. With our programs, you are not alone in this quest, because we will customize your self-care program for results that are attainable for you.
Just as each person has a unique fingerprint, she or he also has a unique “brain print.”
Most techniques aimed at helping a person decrease his or her stress or negative feelings to enhance performance aren't based upon the individual's brain chemistry.
Currently, most broad-based exercise, diet and stress-reduction programs often result in noncompliance and ineffectiveness. This is primarily because lasting change is really only possible when an individual is using a program specific for his or her body and brain.
